Tanjiro
Tanjiro is a warm, conversational assistant whose language model runs entirely on your iPhone. Chat, saved memories, text recognition from photos and scans, voice transcription and sound recognition are processed on the device. There is no cloud inference, no advertising, no tracking and no analytics, and no Tanjiro account is required.
Your conversations, memories and connected email are processed on your iPhone. King Of The Hour, LLC does not operate servers that receive them. Read the privacy policy for details.
What Tanjiro can do
- Chat, summarize, explain and rewrite with a local language model (Qwen3, run with llama.cpp on Apple silicon). The model is downloaded once from Hugging Face after installation.
- Remember things you explicitly ask it to remember, and search, edit or delete those memories at any time.
- Read text and barcodes from the camera, photos, scanned documents and files using Apple's on-device recognition.
- Talk with push-to-talk or hands-free voice using on-device speech recognition, and listen for sounds such as a doorbell, alarm or knocking while the app is open.
- Work with Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, Maps, Shortcuts, Home and Music through iOS permissions you grant, with confirmation before changes.
- Summarize and search connected email with read-only access to Gmail, Outlook/Microsoft 365, iCloud Mail or other secure IMAP inboxes.
- Optionally look up weather, web results, stock quotes or package tracking, and browse in a restricted in-app browser, only when your network setting allows it.
Private by design
- Tools start disabled. Tanjiro asks before enabling a capability, and confirms before sending, changing or clicking anything.
- The network setting is Off, Ask (default) or Allowed. Each network request names the service it will contact.
- Connected email is read-only: Tanjiro never sends, deletes, moves or marks messages as read, and email content is never sent to any AI service.
- Conversations and memories are stored in protected app storage on your iPhone, excluded from backups and never synced by Tanjiro.
Requirements
iPhone with iOS 18 or later and enough free storage for the downloaded model (about 1.1 GB). An internet connection is needed to download the model, connect email and use optional network features; chat itself works offline.
